Introducing Integral OM - online marketing goes holistic
For my friends, colleagues, family, and clients, you may or may not know that I've been working on my own in the field of online marketing for the past 18 months. Of course, I've been working as an online marketer since 2003, getting my start from a Denver online marketing agency that I hold in high esteem. And it's not just that my wife heads up the PPC department… I still consider them a great partner and asset.
Luckily, I have been able to sustain myself through word of mouth references, but not having my own site has created a small challenge in selling my services to new clients. Clients and prospects want to see a website that not only describes my philosophy and services but one that also proves how well I rank in the search engines, links to my portfolio, etc. I absolutely wanted to build a site, but it has simply been a matter of priorities. I am sustained by clients – I don’t get paid when I’m not doing client work. Also, as this field evolves, a large amount of time and a fair amount of money is required to stay relevant and up-to-speed on industry changes.
This journey has been one of the greatest undertakings of my life and I truly feel that I am on to something big. I have been working in this industry long enough that I truly feel I have a vision for how to work with clients, selecting the clients I work with, and how I help their businesses grow. You could say I have a holistic online marketing approach, a common, yet ambiguous philosophy that emphasizes that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. To better define my evolving philosophy would be to describe it as integral online marketing.
Maybe it’s partially my geeky math background resurfacing, but in this context, something integral is something essential for completeness. When developing a strategy for clients, I consider multiple traffic sources (SEO, Shopping Portals, PPC, Social Networks, etc) – some agencies only focus on one or two. My plans include implementing and/or monitoring analytics to determine campaign effectiveness. How is traffic evaluated? Are customers finding what they expect when they find your site – do they buy? How do we maximize the traffic we have? To be successful you need more than search engine results – you need integral online marketing.
I've been using my experience to help my clients grow their online businesses. Now I am using that experience to grow Integral OM. As this site grows, I will share the processes and techniques I use to build this site and increase web traffic. I will use various online mediums such as search engine optimization, social marketing, and other surprises. I will also show you how I measure success on search results pages and use web analytics to show traffic improvements. I intend to present these techniques, tips, and experiences through blog posts and video presentations. It is my way of sharing, educating, and contributing to the community that has done so much for my career.
I like to think I have coined the phrase 'integral online marketing' but it’s no big thing if someone has beat me to it (that would not be integral). If you come across my site and want to use it on your site, feel free to link to www.integralom.com! In the meantime stay tuned for great tips and more of what is integral to your online marketing.
I wish you great success and happiness!
